Hostel Cruz del Sur is a relaxed, colorful, fun hostel located right near the center of town in the worlds most southern city, Ushuaia, in Tierra del Fuego, the Land of Fire!

This cozy, beautiful hostel has been known and loved locally for 10 years, and recently moved to a beautiful, cool new location close to the city center. All the rooms and bathrooms are brand new and freshly painted with unique, colorful designs. Our large, cozy dining room and library are perfect for when you want to relax with friends or a good book. read more

All of our rooms, from dorms of 4 and 6 to the private rooms, feature new mattresses and radiating heat to keep you warm and cozy is this chilly city- even the bathrooms are heated, and of course, offer hot water showers 24 hours a day. We use radiating heat because it is a safe and effective way to keep things warm, and it doesn't cause fires or emit toxic fumes. Each room is decorated in a unique way and offers a different kind of space where you can enjoy relaxing and hanging with new friends.

We have everything you need to enjoy your stay- internet and WiFi, a fully equipped kitchen, free breakfast each morning, a lovely garden with a grill for those warm months when we have hostel barbecues! We also offer you lockers to keep your valuables safe, luggage storage so you can fully enjoy your stay, secure parking, laundry service, and a licensed tourist guide of staff to assist you in getting the best deals on all the excursions you are interested in!

Limpio, ordenado, organizado, cuidado. Buenas instalaciones y personal bien dedicado. Dormitorios de 6 camas un poco pequeños, poco espacio para circular y dejar las mochilas. Literas tamaño niño. Ojo si eres de talla grande.

Our story with Cruz del sur: We reserved a place using minihostles. got a confirmation Email from the site. When we got to the hostel we paid and went to the room. After 30 minutes the manager (alejandro) came and started shouting at us that we didn't actually register, because he didn't confirm the reservation and that the hostel is full (this was after they took our money). He kept shouting that the deposit goes to minihostels and not to him (weI don't really care who gets the money -weI paid...). He was VERY VERY aggressive. After A lot of shouting from his side and talking from our side it was clear to us we can't stay there, because it won't be good for us... Meanwhile, he relaxed a bit (with the help of Jose, one of his workers) and eventually he even helped us find another place (of one of his friends) and drove us there because it was outside of town. Because all the places were full we had to return to the hostel for the second night we reserved, this time we even got a big discount (we guess he realized that we can review him later...). If we thought we were a special case - When we checked out, we heard 2 guys fighting with them - they reserved a place when they went hiking, and when they got back they had a reservation only for one bed (they saw the second name erased)... To summerize: 1. In this hostel they will kick you out on occasions, even if you do have a reservation. We would't go back or recommend the place. 2. The hostel itself is big and ok, a bit noisy. 3. Although he did help us at the end, we really don't like Alejandro. 4. Jose (a worker in the place) was really nice, and he really helped us. He should run the place. Have fun wherever you go.
