The "City of Eternal Spring", Medellin is blessed with an excellent climate and considered to be the one of most beautiful cities in South America.  It is home to three million residents who have the reputation being hard-working hard-playing people. City Attractions. The Botanical Gardens located within the surroundings of the University of Antioquia near the Planetario Municiapl and the Parque Norte is the sanctuary of a wide array of Colombian animal and plant species.  It features an orchid garden, a small country village, and an ecologic train as well as a research center. Found in the heart of Medellin housed in the former Hacienda Sanata Fe, Santa Fe Zoo was founded in 1959 and is home to one thousand and four hundred animal species.  It offers visitors the exciting experience to come near the animals and their world.  Night safaris are featured which provide the visitors the opportunity to seek nocturnal animals which are rarely seen during the day visits. Most popular among the local people is the Unidad Deportiva Atanasio Girardot which made available outstanding facilities for about fifty different sports.  This stadium is currently the best in Latin America and features a main coliseum, a football stadium, tennis club, skating rink, an Olympic pool, a jockey field, and a cycle track.  Also found in the heart of the city is the famous Nutibara Hill that sits in a place name Pueblita Paisa that consists of quaint houses, a school, a church, and a mayor's office.  This wooded area is a replica of the traditional Colombian little town that has a colonial theme and also includes a central square, fountain, and prominent sculptures that depict the original state of the town of about 100 years ago. This perfect elevation provides an unrestricted 360 view of the city. Up-to-date technical equipment is displayed in the Planetarium Jesus Emilio Ramirez.  This contemporary dome structure features fully equipped hall that can accommodate three hundred people.  Heavenly bodies can be experienced in this outstanding structure whereby powerful telescopes and permanent thematic exhibits provide real outer space adventure to all audiences of all ages.  Also housed here are an auditorium, a library, and an internet library. The in-spot for nightlife is the district called El Poblado where the Parque Lleras is found. This place is also known as Zona Rosa which is the heart of the city's nightlife.  Open-air restaurants, discos, and bars are among entertainment spots found here.  Non-stop fun, beautiful single women, and friendly people are here to make any visitor's night exciting.
